Many of our researchers and teachers work at the global forefront of biotechnology, chemical engineering, food technology, applied microbiology and drug formulation. We have an advanced research infrastructure and run several projects together with industry.

A common driving force is curiosity that leads to technological innovations and scientific breakthroughs. Our students are the problem solvers of the future - with us they lay the foundation for a professional career that leads to many options.

We were formed in January 2024 after a merger of the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Food Technology, Engineering and Nutrition, which became the Division of Chemical Engineering, respectively Food and Pharma. In January 2025, we added the Division of Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology.
